Jonathan Laurince: A Christian Artist Making a Mark
 
Jonathan Laurince is an inspired singer and talented trumpeter who writes, composes, arranges, and records his own music. His musical journey began in a Haitian church and continued at the prestigious École Sainte-Trinité. In 2000, he represented his country in an international trumpet competition organized by the ITG (The International Trumpet Guild).
 
After founding an evangelical group and a jazz quintet, Laurince released his first video, "Change Yes We Can," in 2008, which aired on BET, MTV, and local TV channels. He received the "Best Christian Vocalist" award at the HCMA in 2005 for his debut album "Thank You Lord."
 
Following the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2012, Laurince released his second single, "I Know Haiti Will Rise Again," which caught the attention of the American press and led to interviews with BET, NBC6, and Black Enterprise.
 
Laurince's group, "The True Worshipers," was nominated for Best Christian Group in South Florida by the IRAWMA in 2012. He also received a proclamation from the Mayor of North Miami Beach, declaring October 27, 2012, "Jonathan Laurince's Day."
 
In 2012, Laurince released his fourth project, "Gras Pou Haiti," featuring a new version of Haiti's national anthem, "La Dessalinienne." Between 2014 and 2015, he released his first instrumental project, "The Trumpet Sound Vol. 1," and two singles and music videos: "Now The Time Has Come" and "I Will Bless The Lord."
 
"Now The Time Has Come" is an invitation to worship God in spirit and truth, while "I Will Bless The Lord" is a hymn of praise. Laurince's music earned him three awards at the Akademia Music Awards in 2016: Best Gospel Song, Best Contemporary Christian/Gospel Music Video, and Best Christian Gospel Music.
 
Currently, Laurince is working on his 2nd Christmas project, his third trumpet solo album and his fourth praise and worship project which are set to be released on 2025 along with his first book on the art of leading worship. A Timeless Legacy: Honoring the Memory of Arthur Koenig and my unexpected connection with World War II. 

In the sweltering heat of Boca Raton, Florida, I had the profound privilege of crossing paths with Chip at an event organized by Food For The Poor, where I was featured as the main guest artist. The evening's musical performance seemed to stir something deep within Chip, prompting him to approach me with an intriguing invitation to visit his residence.
Upon arriving at Chip's home, I was ushered into his garage, where a dusty relic from a bygone era lay hidden. Carefully, he unveiled a vintage cornet, its surface bearing the patina of age, crafted in the late 1800s. This was no ordinary instrument; it once belonged to Chip's late uncle, Arthur Koenig, a decorated army veteran and accomplished trumpet player who bravely survived World War II.
Arthur Koenig’s remarkable story weaves a tapestry of resilience and artistic passion. After the war, he continued to mesmerize audiences with his cornet, playing in various big bands and leading ensembles. His love for music remained unwavering, leaving an indelible mark on his family.
The Koenig family sought to honor Arthur's enduring legacy in a meaningful way. In a poignant gesture, they entrusted me with his cherished cornet, bridging generations and artistic traditions. As I grasped the instrument, now silent for decades, I felt the weight of responsibility and gratitude.
On that unforgettable day, Chip requested that I play one of Arthur's beloved tunes, "Over The Rainbow." The cornet, untouched since the 1950s, awakened under my fingers, its melodies echoing through time. In that instant, I became a custodian of Arthur's legacy, ensuring his memory continues to resonate. (See video & YouTube link below)
This heartfelt tribute extends beyond Arthur Koenig's remarkable story; it honors all World War II veterans and army personnel who have served with valor and dedication. As we commemorate Veterans Day, may we remember their sacrifices and celebrate their contributions.
I express my deepest gratitude to Chip and the Koenig family for entrusting me with this precious inheritance. May Arthur's cornet continue to inspire generations and give God glory and honor throughout my musical career, its harmonies weaving an eternal tribute to his memory and the bravery of those who served. JONATHAN LAURINCE, UN ARTISTE CHRETIEN QUI DEMARQUE   

Jonathan Laurince est un chanteur inspiré et un talentueux trompettiste qui écrit, compose, arrange et enregistre ses propres compositions. 

Jonathan Laurince a fait ses débuts en musique dans une église en Haïti pour ensuite intégrer l’École Sainte-Trinité, connue comme l’une des meilleures écoles de musique du pays. 

En l’an 2000, il a représenté son pays dans une compétition internationale de trompette organisée par l’ITG (The International Trumpet Guild). Peu de temps après, il fonda un groupe évangélique et un quintet de Jazz dans le but de produire son immense répertoire de musique. 

En 2008, à l’occasion de l’investiture du premier président noir des États-Unis, il publia sa première vidéo intitulée : « Change Yes We Can« . Cette vidéo clip a été diffusé sur BET, MTV et les chaînes de télévisions locales. 

En 2005, il reçut à la HCMA le prix de « Meilleur vocaliste chrétien » pour son premier album intitulé « Thank You Lord« . 

En 2012, après le tremblement de terre qui a dévasté son pays natal, Jonathan lança son deuxième single titré « I Know Haiti Will Rise Again ». Cette chanson a su capter l’attention de la presse américaine et lui a valu des entrevues avec BET, NBC6 et une émission avec la compagnie et magazine très connue appelée Black Enterprize. En cette même année, son groupe « The True Worshipers » fut nominé pour le prix de Meilleur Groupe Chrétien du Sud de la Floride par la IRAWMA, qui est une organisation jamaïcaine. Il reçut aussi une proclamation du Maire de North Miami Beach, nomma le 27 Octobre 2012: « Jonathan Laurince’s Day » 

Toujours en 2012, il publia son quatrième projet titre « Gras Pou Haiti » ayant comme premier tube, sa nouvelle version de L’hymne nationale d’Haïti « La Dessalinienne« . 

Entre 2014 a 2015, il commercialisa son premier projet instrumental appelé « The Trumpet Sound Vol.1. et publia deux chansons et vidéos clips : l’une appelée « Now The Time Has Come » et l’autre « I Will Bless The Lord« . 

En effet, ‘’Now The Time Has Come’’ est une musique qui invite chaque être humain à adorer le Seigneur en esprit et en vérité et de faire l’éloge de ce Dieu merveilleux. 

I Will Bless The Lord, par son titre indique déjà un hymne de louange… 

Motivé par le désir de promouvoir son art, Jonathan Laurince s’est alors inscrit comme artiste à l’organisme The Akademia Music Awards situé à Los Angeles, en Californie. Ce dernier est dédié à la reconnaissance de l’excellence en musique dans le monde entier et en soutenant les musiciens intéressés à recevoir un degré plus élevé d’exposition au marché et de la reconnaissance professionnelle pour leur travail. 

Bonne nouvelle ! les 2 musiques de Jonathan Laurince se sont retrouvés en nomination. Et, le 21 avril 2016, l’artiste chrétien haïtien a reçu les trois prix distinctifs suivants :
